2017 NRC Rules Posted

The National Robotics Challenge website has the contest manual posted for the 2017 competition.  Notable changes from last year, which pertain to the events our members typically enter are:

• The maze layout has been changed.
• In the Mini Sumo event, if there is no clear winner after 2 minutes, the bout will be restarted.  If there is no clear winner after this second attempt, the judges will declare a winner based on action observed.
• Bot Ball now has a bonus tube and balls.  You will get bonus points for having these balls in your "gutter" (10 points per ball, vs. 5 for the normal ping-pong balls,) however, you'll lose points for having the tube in your gutter (-30 points) or having the tube in your end zone (-20 points.)
